For all of our clients, both past and present, and those who will become clients in the future, we want to reiterate our commitment to you during these unprecedented times. Most of us, including all employees of Todd E. Tkach, P.C., are subject to “Shelter-in-Place” orders. The safety of our employees and our clients remains a top priority. Therefore, all employees of Todd E. Tkach, P.C. are following the guidance of international and national health agencies and the orders of our local government by staying at home. However, we have fully and completely moved our office operations to our respective homes. Although this new arrangement poses some unique challenges, we want to make it very clear that we are fully operational and remain available to assist you with your legal needs.
We are fully operational and remain available to assist you with your legal needs.
The attorneys and staff of Todd E. Tkach, P.C. are telecommuting to begin new legal cases in all practice areas and jurisdictions that we serve. We are also furthering our work on all existing cases. From our homes, we have access to the firm's phone systems, e-mail servers, internal messaging systems, case management systems, and file servers. We are working and will continue to serve your legal needs for personal injury cases, criminal defense cases, traffic ticket cases, and warrant cases. We are also serving the legal needs of the unsung heroes of this lockdown: the commercial CDL drivers who are keeping the supply chain open and meeting the basic needs of us all!
Most of the courts throughout the State have canceled nearly all court settings and dockets that would require personal appearances by attorneys and/or parties to those legal proceedings. This includes all trials, plea dockets, and civil motion hearings. There are some exceptions, for example, those currently in jail who wish to accept a plea agreement. However, this does NOT mean that progress cannot be made on all of our current cases, as well as new cases we are currently receiving. In fact, regarding our personal injury cases, opposing counsel and insurance adjusters remain available to discuss cases, and civil discovery is continuing. Regarding our criminal defense cases, discovery is continuing and prosecutors, for the most part, remain available to discuss and resolve cases. We are continuing to actively work on our existing cases and remain available to discuss any new legal needs of our clients and those in need of legal services.
We want to encourage everyone to remain positive during these challenging times. The road ahead will be demanding and may test the fiber of our souls. The stakes are high and could be greater than we can afford to lose. I’m reminded of the quote from Admiral William Halsey, who, during the most difficult moments of the battle for Guadalcanal, stated: "There are no great men; there are only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet."
During these times, we can be who we choose to be. Rather than giving in to fear, hoarding and greed, let’s resolve to help and support our family, friends and those in our community. We’re all in this together!
Stay safe and healthy!
Todd E. Tkach
